What is Betulin?
Betulin is an extract of birch bark, crystalline organic matter.
Betulin was discovered by T. Lovitz in birch water, also found in birch tar. It is a white resin that fills the cork cavity cells and gives it a white color.
Betulin as a natural hepatoprotective agent is effective in acute and chronic liver lesions of any aetiology, including those complicated by cholestasis.
Betulin induces the synthesis of interferon by oral administration. This is important for controlling viral infections such as avian influenza, influenza A, herpes simplex, hepatitis C, HIV-1.
